SGV builds new all electric motorcycles from 3 inputs: traditional motorcycles,
solar batteries, and motorcycle parts, including maintenance free electric
motor and control computer. SGV has deployed 140 such all-electric
drivetrains for traditional motorcycles into Malawi.

We recycle existing petrol motorcycles and convert them to all-electric. This approach allows businesses and individuals to continue utilizing their current transportation assets (including their frames, front wheels, suspension, and registration), but significantly lower their operational costs and carbon footprints. We’ve recycled motorcycles into all electric for PRO-telligent LLC, Illovo (Africa’s largest sugar producer) and most recently Microloan Foundation.
In partnership with Don Bosco Youth Technical Institute, SGV created a first-of-its-kind electric vehicle technician program. Our customers fund certification scholarships through their purchases of our products. Pictured below are new arrivals to our Next-Generation Apprenticeship Program, recently returned from a month-long European exchange program under SAAM.
From DHL to Pyxus, we have a wide network of electric mobility implementation partners and customers, with more than 2,000,000km collectively traveled on Malawi roads with SGV e-motorcycles. We have also deployed the largest customer operated e-mobility fleet in Southern Africa with PRO-telligent.
We have also installed Malawi's first EV charging station. Capable of charging 12 bikes at once and supported by PRO-telligent's solar installation, this charge station will help power their bikes and drive profitability as they expand: this station could provide up to 72 full charges every 24 hours, each charge delivering 120km per motorcycle.
We have an experienced team of trained and certified technicians with a new electric motorbike production capacity of 1,500 units per year.
